Biography


Theodore  G. “Ted” Westervelt is the founder of soccerreform.us, a grassroots advocacy dedicated to uniting US club soccer under the umbrella of an open league system featuring promotion, relegation and fully autonomous clubs.  Founded in 2008, it remains the longest standing effort in the United States devoted solely to this mission.
 
After interning in the White House in 1993, he embarked on a career as a political consultant in which he served dozens of US House and Senate campaigns.

 

Ted’s interest in the beautiful game began while playing junior varsity soccer at Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. A two-time DC United season ticket holder, spectator at the first MLS cup and World Cup ’94, USMNT supporter, and US Open Cup afficionado he currently resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife and their boxer, Brisby.
